Marcia Harris

Artist Statement
"If we go down into ourselves we find that we possess exactly what we desire."
Simone Weil

My work is about search and discovery, both metaphorically and literally. I want the viewer to be engaged beyond the surface of the picture plane, stimulating a mood that envokes memory. The content of my work consists of a collection of images that I've seen, imagined or appropriated. The combination of these facets also relate to the context of my work in that I combine experience and imagination along with aspects of reality to create imagery that expresses my individuality.
