Jane Everett was born in Winnipeg and studied fine arts at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario receiving
her B.F.A. in 1979. She has exhibited in both public and private venues across Canada. Her work is held in a number of corporate collections.

Jane's recent work continues her examination of the effects of light on water and expands the idea with a group of paintings
inspired by the Adams River salmon run.
'At first you are overwhelmed with the colour. The fish aren't salmon coloured. They are magenta, alizarin and scarlet. The
movement in the water makes a breathtaking pattern of fractured light. Then as your eye begins to distinguish the individual
creatures you realize you are watching as the ultimate birth/death struggle unfolds before you.'
